Everybody should know that Sherlock Holmes is not a book, he is a fictional character who appears in several novels and short stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, such as: The Sign of the Four, A Study in Scarlet, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, and so on. All these are detective stories.
Sherlock Holmes is a detective, working with Scotland Yard as a "consulting detective", and in all the cases he solves the mysteries of the crimes.
He is smart and his sense of observation and knowledge in chemistry and forensic science, he is able to disguise and nobody can recognize him (neither his best friend, doctor Watson!).
He has the ability of logical reasoning and this helps him to solve the case. Sherlock has many sayings, such: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth".
Sherlock Holmes is a fascinating character. There are many people who had read his adventures, and then wrote letter to Sherlock to his address in London; 221B, Baker Str. I read many times the books with him, because I like a lot this character.
