When someone hires you the first thing they want to see is your qualification from university and even if it doesnt happen everywhere, since not every job requires such qualification, but in order ro have a succsseful career you need one. Some companies even ask their employees to have qualification from certain universities. However, your diploma from Harvard, can remain just a piece of paper if you dont have enough brain to come up with an idea how to make your qualifications work for you. So yes qualifications are important, but gaining the throw your own knowledge is more segnificant.
